Blogging since 2003. (Mini contest included.)

This is a belated happy fifth year anniversary to my blogging alter ego.

I started blogging in May 2003 at a time when I had so many complaints about life (what better motivation to write?). This Pansitan blog was born in January 2005 so technically, this blog address is three years old. But I have been blogging for five years, so yey. I have blogged in Blogspot, Motime, Blogdrive, and Livejournal (this blog is still alive) and finally I settled in WordPress because the templates are awesome and the interface is simple.

I would like to thank the fabulous Ate Sienna for the free web space and the very dependable online technical support and everything else. Thank you Ate Sienna!

I’m writing about this because the other day I got to thinking about the significance of the number five to me, if there is. I thought, maybe I should do something about this blog turning five years, maybe it will be nice to include other people in the writing process (writing process daw o). And true enough, I came up with a number of reasons why the number five can be significant enough for me to device some sort of special interaction time with those who read this site, something I seldom do because I’m lazy and all that. (I reply to emails, though.)

So here it is, if you have the time, comment on this entry and suggest/request for a topic for me to write about. I will post the output in this blog, and if you want I can also send it to you via air mail. If I get a considerable amount of suggestions/requests, I will choose five among them and the corresponding senders will be receiving a personal handcrafted gift from me via air mail.

The guidelines are: (1) The topic you will request should mean something to you personally, I’d appreciate it if you tell me why you are requesting me to write about it. (2) Each person can request for two topics at the most. (3) The topic should not be about any product or commercial anything, it should be personal (I can’t stress this enough) and preferably about feelings/emotions. (4) It can be about me or you or anyone you know. Or something else that may seem far out but if you can connect it to yourself, it will do. (-: (5) I can refuse to write about something if my reasons are valid. (6) I get to decide how long or short the output will be.

Not only is this in support of The Snail Mail Project, this may also be a nice way to get to know each other better. This may come off as narcissistic and all that, but you see, I’m hoping this will pull through because I would like to do something with my hands, and I would like to send it to someone who wants it. (-: So there, go!

Thank you in advance to those who will join. (-:

Last night Jang was teaching me Ilocano and I asked her what the Ilocano word for ‘baby’ is and she couldn’t think of the word (bata is ubing, but there seems to be no word for baby [sanggol in Tagalog]) and then this memory of Michael V. singing ‘Sanggol! Sanggol! Sanggol!’ in one of his MTB (Music Tagalog Bersyon) videos in Bubble Gang came to me. Remember when he Tagalized Celine Dion’s “It’s all coming back to me now” and there were the ‘Baby! Baby! Baby!’ lyrics?

Jang and I were laughing so hard remembering the lyrics (If you kiss me like this, and if you kiss me like that = Pag hinalikan mo kong ganito, pag hinalikan mo kong ganon), and then when we were trying to recall other songs that Michael V (who should be a national hero by now because of his brilliance) Tagalized, we couldn’t come up with any because the Celine Dion song was what stuck all these years.

So here’s the thing, if you recall any other song that he Tagalized, we’d appreciate it if you tell us. It will really make our day. Also, is there a DVD compilation of those MTB episodes? Bili tayo!

Uy, gusto ko rin ng Micheal V. collection. A few weeks ago my family and I had a hilarious time watching a few of the videos on YouTube, dahil nakita namin sa Bubble Gang yung “Mas Tanga ‘ko sayo” (spoof ng “Pangako sa’yo” ni Rey Valera).

Hanap tayo DVD! Siguro meron sa Quiapo haha.

He also spoofed another one bites the dust (may isa na namang kumagat ng alikabok), Sa kanya (chaka nya, which isn’t really tagalized, just spoofed), Mamaw (which I think is just Narda spoofed) and one Westlife song I think? Fool again ata yun, which was tagalized.

    Happy fifth blog anniversary! Hehehehe.

Coffee and vacations in one post perhaps? That’s what I always remember this blog for. Coffee and vacations.

Get it on!” translation: “Kunin mo! Kunin mo!” I hope Bubble Gang brings this back! but wait, is there Bubble Gang still?

hmm, i want you to write what it means to be you. how to live like kat. if possible, make a photo-entry, a day in my life – style. i’m always curious about identity and how everyday life reinforces or negates it. also, i’ve always wanted to know what it feels like living independently, away from family. plus i’m super nosy, hihi. =)

    hi!

    happy blogging anniversary!

the topic that i would like to suggest is one that was spearheaded actually by a fellow blogger i met thru EntreCard, Jena Isle…

she is requesting us bloggers to write a topic about the negative effect of TV’s violence on our children – the TV being the cheapest form of entertainment with full access to our children’s attention.

i have already blogged about this in my blog, hope you could post a topic about it too.

    thanks!

    hmmm…

maybe you can right about finding your calling—living your true purpose in life.

and if this gets to be chosen…i’ll be waiting for the gift! haha!

since you require an explanation for this—here it goes… on a personal note, i feel that i havn’t been living my true purpose in life. i thought that becoming a lawyer was everything. so it seemed…until i found myself searching for something else. something that’s at the tip of my fingertips but i can’t seem to reach. it’s like i know it…but i don’t…and it becomes frustrating at some point.

it becomes specially harder for me because of the rough years that i endured in law school…and now i feel that what is before me has nothing to do with lawyering. way,way far from it.

    labo.

but somehow, there is an assurance from somewhere that i am exactly where God wants me to be at the moment. kahit malabo. maybe to learn, to grow, to realize…whatever.

    so ayun. lalong malabo.

kaya write something about it…para medyo luminaw.

    goodluck!
